Project Atlas
As the Art Director, I spearheaded the entire process of concepting, 3D modeling, and rendering an innovative urban bus designed specifically for the Moroccan landscape. Collaborating closely with engineers, I focused on creating a modern yet practical aesthetic that reflects local culture and requirements. My role involved translating initial ideas into detailed digital models, ensuring functionality and comfort for urban commuters. The final renderings encapsulate a fresh vision for public transportation, emphasizing sustainability and efficiency while catering to the unique needs of Moroccan cities.
I will be sharing my process here.
Part 1
References
I carefully curated references to align with the client’s vision, ensuring clarity and cohesion. These resources serve as a foundation for productive discussions and a shared understanding as we move forward.
Part 2
Using efficient modeling techniques in 3ds Max, I developed several design options to present to the client. This approach allows us to gain clearer insights into their preferences and requirements, facilitating a more targeted design process moving forward.
Concepts Designs
A collection of various designs I prepared for our weekly meetings with my client, allowing us to discuss their preferences in detail.
By presenting a diverse range of options, I ensure that I can address my client's unique needs effectively. This approach not only facilitates meaningful conversations but also helps me gather valuable feedback that can be incorporated into future iterations.
Part 3
I used AI to generate some wild ideas, mainly to get some different perspectives and see if there are some elements that I could work with
Ai Concepts
The bus design process leveraged AI to generate conceptual images, providing fresh perspectives and innovative ideas. These AI-generated visuals inspired unique shapes, patterns, and layouts, helping to refine the design with a blend of creativity
Part 4
Front & Back
I curated and refined a selection of fully developed bus design concepts, combining the strongest ideas into a cohesive lineup. This collection was thoughtfully prepared to present to the client, showcasing a range of solutions tailored to their needs and vision.
Part 5
Approved!
After some collaborative back-and-forth with the client, this is the final design we arrived at.
Part 6
Full 3D model
Once the design was approved, I worked on finalizing the 3D model of the bus, carefully refining every element to align with the project's vision and ensure a polished, cohesive result.
Part 7
The final result featured a fully detailed 3D model, complete with a material pass and carefully crafted lighting to showcase the final outcome of this process.

Bonus Part
Final request from client was to create a logo for the bus.
Logo Design
The client reached out with a last-minute request, and this is the logo I designed. The shape is inspired by the distinctive front light of the bus and also reflects the intricate patterns of Moroccan mosaics, blending modern design with cultural heritage.
Part 8
Prototype
During my visit to Morocco, I had the opportunity to stop by the factory where the first prototype of the bus is being built and meet the engineer overseeing the project. It was an incredible experience to see something I’ve worked on come to life!
